We first signed up our son for an in-person group lesson at one of the most popular SAT centers in San Jose. It was a waste of money and more importantly our son's time.

Our son scored 1350 in his PSAT last year. After that we saw no score improvement from the group lessons. Then after working with Martin for 1.5 months, his practice test scores ranged from 1530-1560. He took the August SAT. Results came back yesterday and he reached his target score of 1550 in his first attempt. This means our son can now focus on all other things like Research, Olympiads, APs, Extra Curriculars, Sports, etc. and not worry about SATs any more.

"Marty is a great tutor! I worked with him for about a month to get ready for the GRE. This was before the at home GRE was extended beyond the end of September 2020. At the beginning of September, Marty quickly came up with a one month study strategy so that I could complete the GRE in time when we thought September would be last opportunity to take the exam at home. As we did not have that much time, we hit the ground running. Marty quickly identified my key weak areas and tailored the sessions around my needs. What is great about Marty as a tutor is that he gives you a game plan for each type of question so that you do not feel lost when something challenging comes up on the exam. He also goes over certain GRE conventions that may differ from common conventions and that may not be obvious to the test taker. This type of teaching really helped me add to both my verbal and math scores. In addition, we went over strategy for the days leading up to the exam and what to do on exam day which really helped calm my nerves and perform well on the GRE. Both of them got "reasonable" results, but as parents, we were expecting great results because we knew about our children's capabilities ("A" students, "5" on AP STEM tests, etc.).
